Non-destructive testing (NDT), also referred to as non-destructive examination (NDE), is a set of techniques used to evaluate the properties of a material, component, or system without causing any damage to its integrity. These methods are crucial in various industries to ensure the reliability, safety, and performance of materials and structures. NDT is employed during manufacturing, construction, and in-service inspections to detect and assess defects, discontinuities, or irregularities without compromising the functionality or structural integrity of the inspected item.
